Subang Jaya is home to well known educational facilities, long-lasting traffic, and bubble tea.
Subang Jaya is a large township, referred to as Subang by locals. Subang Jaya was a rubber plantation in the 1970s. Now, the area shows no signs of its origins with its large, bustling population. The entirety of the area was developed by Sime Darby. Most of Subang Jaya consists of landed properties.
Prices of property have steadily increased over the years. 10 years ago, a house could be bought for only RM280k. In 2022, the same house can be sold for RM1.3 million. That amount is expected to increase in a widening circle from the MRT station.
Many international students live here because of the number of higher education institutions in the area (Sunway University, Inti College, and Taylors University). A fun fact is that a bulk of the students in the area are from other parts of Malaysia, making Subang Jaya their first home away from home. Subang Jaya is home to many hipster cafes and eateries which keeps the area hot and happening. This includes the popular bubble tea lane in SS15, Subang Jaya.
Shopping centres in the area include Subang Parade, Empire Subang, Sunway Pyramid, and the SS15 Courtyard which make it convenient for residents to get everything they need. Subang has Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) as well as Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care to serve all your healthcare needs. It is also home to the Subang Ria Park which features a beautiful lake, perfect for walks and picnics.
Traffic flow is heavy heading towards and from the city centre which often causes congestion. As such, many new flyovers and roads have been constructed over the years. The upcoming MRT in the area will further assist in alleviating the traffic.
Subang Jaya is the perfect neighbourhood for young families and students looking to live further from the city centre without losing activities or accessibility.
