Tebrau is a sub-division in the state of Johor, and is part of the Johor Bahru District. It is a matured area focused mainly on residential developments, promising its residents a quiet home that is at the same time located close to the city centre of Johor.

Located conveniently close to the Johor Bahru Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine Complex (CIQ), Singaporean citizens find it convenient to make their way here from their country for a 1-day shopping trip. There are busses from the border to Tebrau, providing convenient commute to visitors.

Aside from being a great place for shopping, it is also a great place for sight-seeing. Tebrau is home to the first glass Hindu temple in the world, making it a tourist attraction. The famed Legoland Malaysia is also situated no more than a bus-ride away, as is Hello Kitty Town.

Being conveniently located with proximity to not just the border of Singapore and Malaysia but also to major highways and the Senai International Airport, new and upcoming residential developments in this area are popular with both home buyers and investors.

Consumer Price Index

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) line shows an increment in prices of essential goods on a yearly basis, while the Percentage Changes line shows the level of changes in price increments over the years. For example, a dip in the CPI line may indicate a low level of price increment as compared to the previous year while a surge in CPI line shows a high level of price increment as compared to the previous year.

The above graph shows 1.839% of price changes in essential goods such as rice, meat and tobacco between the years 2011 and 2012, while increasing in difference to 2.471% in 2013. Prices of essential goods then increasing to 3.525% in the year 2014 while surging by 2.957% in 2015.

While the prices of essential goods have shown a variation in the Percentage Changes, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) on the other hand indicates a reality of ever increasing prices in essential goods with increments between the years 2011 - 2015 at 102.7 in 2011, 105.2 in 2012, 107.8 in 2013, 111.6 in 2014, 114.9 in 2015.
