Puchong is a large self-sufficient township. It is surrounded by thriving localities such as Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park and Sunway. The township in itself is very well organised and filled with business areas, factory areas, and residential areas.

Puchong was originally a tin mine and rubber estate in the 60s. It has been mostly developed by the IOI Property Group. Puchong began to boom in the 1900s, when the mining licenses expired and infrastructure building started with massive industrial developments followed by residential areas and commercial centres. Now, there is a good mix of homes in this area. The majority are middle-cost homes and a number of high end landed properties.

Construction in the area is ongoing at nearly all times and boasts an abundance of land in the outer areas. Puchong is a popular place for homebuyers given its self sufficient nature, although this comes with the drawback of both human and vehicle traffic at peak hours.

In the 1980s, Puchong was originally served by two-lane roads running to and from the area. These very same lanes have now been widened to contend with the increasing traffic, along with the addition of several new connecting highways. Puchong’s residents hope that the upcoming extended MRT lines that will run through Puchong Perdana and Taman Puchong Permai might assist in alleviating some of their traffic woes.

Puchong is the perfect location for those who want to live with convenience at their doorstep. The residents barely have to leave the locale to find what they’re looking for from international and local schools to medical care.

With something for everyone, there are a good number of shopping malls in the vicinity; IOI Mall, SetiaWalk Mall, and M SQUARE Mall, along with the neighbourhood shops. Nature lovers are also catered for with the last green lung in the area, Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve, residents can access walking treks right in their neighbourhood.

Beagle Mania is also located in Puchong. This spot allows you to learn about the history and origins of the Beagle breed while playing with 20 Beagles. Uptown Puchong's Night Bazaar is a night market-based concept with a variety of shops, kiosks, and food stalls.

Puchong is home to a multitude of food options, challenging traffic, and many shopping centres.
