Mont Kiara is home to Korean eateries, numerous educational facilities, great accessibility and also a diverse range of properties.

Mont Kiara is one of the more exclusive enclaves to live in within Kuala Lumpur. It is located northwest of the city centre of KL, roughly halfway between Kepong and downtown Kuala Lumpur and adjacent to Sri Hartamas.

Mont Kiara is primarily populated by expatriates who have relocated to Malaysia. The township consists of residential condominiums, landed gated communities, shopping malls, and office complexes. Mont Kiara's projects include 1 Mont Kiara, Publika, Hartamas Shopping Centre, Plaza Mont Kiara, Seni Mont Kiara, Solaris Mont Kiara, Solaris Dutamas, and Arcoris.

There is ongoing construction in the area at the moment. That, in addition to the number of people already commuting to and from the area, creates some congestion during peak hours. Along with the 2 international schools in the neighbourhood, it makes sense to plan your journey here.

Due to the limited availability of land and high demand, many developers are now placing new developments on the edges of Segambut. Mont Kiara is a choice location for migrating individuals and families; as the facilities, amenities, and malls have been created in a way to offer many home comforts to the expat community.

This locality is also self-sufficient which allows residents the option of walking to their corner store instead of having to drive. Families with school-going children have the option to choose between three schools within the area: Mont’Kiara International School, Garden International School, and French Lycée FranÇais Kuala Lumpur. As for healthcare, the Global Doctors Hospital is located on Jalan Kiara 3. Family-friendly activities in the area include Wheelie Sunday at Solaris Dutamas where inner roads are blocked off every Sunday from 7 am to 10 am for people to cycle. There is also a weekly farmers market on Thursdays from 3 pm to 10 pm at Plaza Mont’Kiara to keep you and your little ones entertained.

Mont Kiara is an excellent location for families, retirees, and young adults alike. With convenience, accessibility, and amenities all around, it is no wonder that Mont Kiara is a thriving community.

Consumer Price Index

This is a representation of Kuala Lumpur Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the year of 2011 - 2015

Did you know?

A consumer price index (CPI) measures changes in the price level of a market basket of consumer goods and services purchased by households. (Wikipedia)

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) line shows an increment in prices of essential goods on a yearly basis, while the Percentage Changes line shows the level of changes in price increments over the years. For example, a dip in the CPI line may indicate a low level of price increment as compared to the previous year while a surge in CPI line shows a high level of price increment as compared to the previous year.

The above graph shows 1.363% of price changes in essential goods such as rice, meat and tobacco between the years 2011 and 2012, while increasing in difference to 1.633% in 2013. Prices of essential goods then increasing to 3.308% in the year 2014 while surging by 3.019% in 2015.
