Yes, if it appears not economically practical and convenient. It is best to rent a place to stay and rent out your property as investment. Or buy a dual key apartment with two separate living spaces. We can rent out and still have all the privacy of your own living space!
In some cases, it even applies to car ownership, where the total cost of buying a car is as expensive as renting a car long term. (example in Singapore)
@domng ,em yes you right, i hear this good investment in Singapore & hong kong was 10 years ago, i have a friend in hong kong 10 years ago,he only buy i property but he bought 20 car parks,everybody said he something wrong,but today he became very rich,he smart to said car park non need to repair, he smart.hehehehe

Parking spaces in Hong Kong is really a luxury. I have heard that you can afford to buy a car in Hong Kong, but cannot afford to rent a space to actually park it!
