About Desa Petaling

Properties for Rent in Desa Petaling

Desa Petaling is a township in Kuala Lumpur located between Kuchai Lama, Bukit Jalil, and Sri Petaling. Only a mere 45 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and a short driving distance from Bangsar, and Mont Kiara, Desa Petaling is located on a hill and living here is more peaceful as the neighbourhood is quieter. The township is at a very strategic location where many highways and expressways intersect and it is highly accessible.

Property development in Desa Petaling mainly consists of low-cost apartments and mid-range condominiums. Living conditions in this neighbourhood is not particularly the best but it does have its perks. Despite its quiet appearance, Desa Petaling has quite a share of public amenities and facilities for its residents. A resident shopping mall and a hypermarket that doubles as a mall with its own cinema, restaurants and boutiques, followed by a community business centre, schools, petrol stations, a sports complex, and furniture shops make up the township of Desa Petaling. Entertainment can be found within short driving distance to Mid Valley Megamall and IOI Mall in Puchong.

Access to Desa Petaling is easily attainable via a direct bus ride to the neighbourhood from the Salak South LRT station. RapidKL buses and public taxis also service this neighbourhood. Alternatively, residents can use other means of public transportation such as the RapidKL Bandar Tun Razak, KTM Tasik Selatan, and the Rapid Tasik Selatan to get to the neighbourhood.

The crime rate in this township is not a major concern as a safe-city initiative was implemented in 2013 to improve the living conditions of its residents and to transform Desa Petaling into a safer and better place. The Petaling Jaya City Council had organised a ‘gotong-royong’ scheme to clean up the area and provided facilities, such as building barrier-free walkways and upgraded the drainage system, streetlights, landscaping, roads, and motorcycle lanes.
