Connectivity is a highly-coveted feature in a property, whether residential or commercial. With the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project and plans for the High Speed Rail (HSR), rail connectivity tops the list of most home seekers’ list these days. New transit-oriented developments like D’Sara Sentral and SqWhere which offer direct access from the residences and commercial properties to the Kampung Selamat MRT station in Sungai Buloh have proven to be popular with buyers.

Though not all of us can be able to live in properties which have the privilege of direct link bridges to MRT stations, the MRT feeder busses preset a newfound opportunity of connectivity. 107 feeder buses have begun operations around the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT Line 1, since December of 2016, with 25 routes bringing commuters to other key locations near the MRT stations, such as the Subang Airport, as well as residential areas.

The earliest busses leave at 5.30 a.m., while the last busses are at 11.30 p.m., with an interval of 10 minutes from every MRT station where commuters can catch the feeder busses. Fares for the feeder buses have also been kept to a minimum, at just RM1 per trip! Students, senior citizens as well as the disabled will also get to enjoy 50% off their fare, all they need to do is present their student card (unless in uniform), MyKad (senior citizens) and OKU card (those with disabilities) to the bus operator upon boarding. Commuters can choose to make payment for the tickets by cash or with just a convenient tap of their Touch ’N Go cards.

The feeder busses also take into account the comfort and security of its passengers, with features like CCTV security cameras, with Mother and Child seat and Priority seats in addition to the normal seats. An area is also specially designated for the disabled. Each 28-seater bus is able to accommodate 62 passengers, where 34 are standees.

So if you’re looking to make the most out of the feeder busses, here’s a list of residential as well as commercial properties along the way of the many routes.

Given how prices of properties around the MRT line have appreciated in value and are highly-sought-after, perhaps investors or those looking to bank in on the MRT may even consider investing in properties along the MRT feeder bus routes? Either way, connectivity will prove to be one of the foremost essential trait of properties these days and in the future.

Most buyer will evaluate property based on its proximity to the stations (LRT/MRT). Actually if the property is along the FREE feeder bus route, it is good enough... don't need to be within walking distance to stations.

If the FREE feeder bus is reliable, safe and frequent... Yes I agree it does not matter if the property is not within walking

But of course if the property is within walking distance to the MRT station, that would really help hike up the property price. Good for investment. People are willing to buy a place within walking distance to MRT station.

@ Veronica. How much premium in % do you reckon buyers are willing to fork out for properties within walking distance to MRT?

I think this really helps especially when most MRT stations are not walking distance and safe like in Singapore. Good initiative!

Given that the bus is frequent and punctual....

@James. Walking distance wise, I personally think beyond the security guard post for gated and guarded areas... it is not safe. Take for instance those high class condominiums are Mount Kiara... right next to Squatter areas!

Heard that the government is bringing forward plans for the MRT phase 3. More convenience for everyone living in the city! Should have started doing this 20 years ago IMHO.
