Ara Damansara is a relatively new and upcoming township, located at the borders of Subang near the old Subang airport, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, and is 20km to the west of downtown Kuala Lumpur.
This 739 acre township is developed mainly by Sime Darby with freehold properties. The area has developed rapidly and in recent years a handful of other developers have also jumped onto the bandwagon with residential, office and community spaces. Ara Green Residences which is a meticulously planned residential sanctuary, boasts a 63.4% of development dedicated to community space (one of the highest in current market environment).
Property prices in Ara Damansara skyrocketed after Sime Darby took over. A small double-storey terrace house that cost RM350,000 in 2000 was being sold for a minimum of RM850,000 only 3 years later, while the luxury condominiums were priced from RM700,000 onwards in 2014. Now, bungalows in this up-coming suburb can reach RM8 million and above, while a condominium in Ara Damansara can reach as high as RM3 million.
Ara Damansara is a township that benefits from excellent local amenities, with a number of malls (CITTA Mall & Evolva Mall) and entertainment opportunities in the area for locals to enjoy. There are also a multitude of international, private, and public schools in and around the area. Healthcare in the area includes Ara Damansara Medical Centre and Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC).
Ara Damansara is well served by public transport. Ara Damansara LRT and Lembah Subang LRT stations provide access to the LRT Kelana Jaya Line, which links to public transport throughout Klang Valley, as well as direct travel to KL Sentral and onward national rail connections. Shuttle buses also connect Lembah Subang LRT Station with nearby Surian MRT Station. Several Rapid KL Bus routes also service the area. In addition to that, there is also MRT connectivity. A fun fact is that Ara Damansara serves as a shortcut to Subang Jaya.
