Desa Rahmat Apartment at Relau, Penang is a freehold 11 storey apartment that occupies 2 central blocks and has been completed since the year 2000. The layout of units at the property are standard with 700 sf per unit and 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. The property can be categorised as a medium cost apartment.

Unfortunately, there are no facilities provided to residents of Desa Rahmat Apartment other than a parking lot and elevator services. There are also no security guards or CCTV surveillance. The only consolation is a security fencing surrounding the property, although it may not be much of a deterrence.

Amenities close to the property on the other hand, is quite good. Desa Rahmat Apartment is located on Jalan Tun Dr. Awang, which is quite central to Bayan Baru, so residents will be able to find banks, clinics, restaurants, cafes, and shop lots. Those wanting to go to the major hubs can find the Bukit Jambul Complex, a Giant Hypermarket, Sunshine Square, Mayang Mall and the Lip Sin Market, all within 5 km distance, which is very manageable.

Accessibility is the greatest strength of Desa Rahmat Apartment with it being so close to the Free Trade Zone and Bayan Lepas. Hence, the property may be a good fit for those working in the area. Jalan Tun Dr. Awang is also conveniently linked to Persiaran Bukit Jambul, the Bayan Lepas Highway, the Sungai Nibong Highway, and of course Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway for those needing to head to Georgetown or the two Penang bridges. Public transport is also readily available along the main road, such as the buses operated by Rapid Penang and quite a number of taxis for hire.

The overall condition of the apartment is quite depressing as it looks like it has not been well maintained. However, all residents are required to pay a maintenance fee, which has not, apparently, served its purpose. The main roads to Desa Rahmat Apartment can also get quite congested. Given its condition and also lack of security, these factors may put off some potential buyers and investors.
