Taman Midah is a matured self-contained residential neighbourhood boosted by a wide range of public amenities and facilities located within the township itself as well as its surrounding. The combination of its short distance from the Kuala Lumpur City Centre with good recreation facilities and amenities nearby have highly popularised this location in the eyes of many.
As a densely-populated township, its strategic location is an attraction to many property and commercial developers with the properties consisting mostly of freehold condominiums. Situated next to Hospital UKM and a stone’s throw away from the Maktab Perguruan Teknik, primary schools and hypermarkets can be found in Taman Midah. Also located within close proximity are sports complexes, markets, clinics, banks, convenience shops, a shopping complex, and several Malaysian top schools.
As an upcoming township crammed with existing and future developments, this brings an influx of new residents into the neighbourhood. An increase in the number of vehicles outpaces the development in the area. As a result, traffic within the area will increase and overflow as vehicles go in and out of the township. As it is, traffic congestion in Taman Midah is already bad enough, especially during peak hours.
The safety and security of the residents in Taman Midah was previously compromised due to a high number of break-ins and snatch thefts almost every week. However, the situation has improved after the neighbourhood formed their own crime watch programme under the Rukun Tetangga committee. Employing their own form of security and turning resi into gated and guarded communities have become a trend among most of the residential areas in Cheras.
Accessibility into Taman Midah is easily gained via public transport and highways. Cheras itself is a host to two LRT stations which are the Cheras and Maluri stations on the Star LRT line. The Bandar Tasik Selatan rail interchange is connected to KLIA through the ERL Expressway, and is also connected to the KTM Intercity Railway and the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, an Interstate bus station. Cheras will soon be hosting a few MRT stations in the near future, which will include Taman Midah as the proposed MRT station on the MRT Line 1 (Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT Line).
