Taman Melati Jaya is a housing estate located on the historic and beautiful island of Penang. Comprising of single storey terraces, double storey terraces and double storey shophouses, this neighbourhood sits along the main trunk road of Jalan Tun Dr Awang. Other landmarks is the Penang Golf Club located just opposite this neighbourhood. Families with school-going children will like this location, as there is a primary school within the neighbourhood. Unfortunately, due to their rather central location, houses in this neighbourhood that face the main road will suffer noise and air pollution. Peak hours also present a problem when there is massive traffic congestion, a common phenomenon here especially when there are events being held at the Penang International Sports Area (PISA).
