Johor Bahru City Square is a commercial development consisting of a shopping centre and office building, situated in the middle of the business district of Johor Bahru - a very busy area. Strategically located along the Jalan Wong Ah Fook, the property is known as a central landmark of Johor city centre.
Komtar JBCC (a different mall) is also nearby to the said building and it is a stone’s throw away from the customs and immigration checkpoint. There is also a pedestrian bridge that connects Johor Bahru City Square to JB Sentral, which is said to be an added value. Quite convenient, isn't it?
Apart from that, this property is also well-known among Singaporeans. This is because of Johor Bahru City Square's proximity to the Johor-Singapore Causeway, which attracts many shoppers from Singapore. It only takes around 45 minutes from Singapore, using Johor Causeway to the mall. Meanwhile, from Senai Airport, it takes about 30 minutes of driving.
Not only that. In 2009, the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation bought 70% of the property’s share and launched a Singapore Visitor Centre within the building, which caused more attractions to the mall as well. Furthermore, hotels within the vicinity such as Baguss City Hotel, The Puteri Pacific and Citrus Hotel, just to name a few - also contributed to the crowd.
Moving on, the Johor Bahru City Square building interior consists of seven levels of retail outlet space, including a 36-storey office block, which is divided into the lower, middle and upper zones. It also has an outdoor garden, complete with a pond and a green wall.
Due to its popularity, the mall has more than 300 retailers, with a mix of fashion boutiques, entertainment outlets and restaurants. They are all catered to different walks of life, to accommodate different senses and needs at unbeatable prices - at least for the Singaporeans, if not all.
