Taman Impian is a matured neighbourhood in Bukit Minyak, Penang, which appears to have been around for quite some time. There is a mix of residential and commercial properties within the development, with terrace homes making up the residential phases while shop offices constitute the commercial section of the neighbourhood.
There are single-storey and double-storey terraces, where most are occupied. Generally, the homes are well-kept, with many having gone through renovation works adding on balconies and paving cement over the small patch of garden to widen the porch and such. The homes are at least 700 sf in built-up space.
The shop lots on the other hand, are double-storey with a myriad of businesses housed within, such as mini markets, eateries, hair salons and hardware stores among others. With that, these basic conveniences are within quick reach of residents living in the Taman Impian homes. Prices of units at Taman Impian begin from RM208,000 while rental is approximately RM700 per month.
Other amenities within Taman Impian include a school, namely, SK Taman Impian, and a surau or two. Schools like SRJK (C) Sin Ya, SK Alma Jaya, SMK Taman Perwira and more will require a drive further up.
More amenities can be found along Jalan Rozhan nearby, where there are numerous banks. There is also a Tesco Bukit Mertajam hypermarket and the Aeon Mall Bukit Mertajam. Other than fulfilling grocery needs, there are pharmacies, food and beverage outlets, Auto teller Machines (ATM) as well as retail outlets and a cinema.
Jalan Rozhan is the main road which connects Taman Impian to other parts of mainland Penang. The road can link to Jalan Kulim up north, which then leads to the town centre of Bukit Mertajam while down south is the town of Simpang Ampat via Jalan Permatang Tinggi. The second Penang bridge is about 20 minutes away via Jalan Bukit Tambun or the North South Expressway (NSE).
