1Borneo Hypermall is dubbed Sabah’s largest shopping mall located along Jalan Sulaman in Kota Kinabalu. Situated about 10km away from the city centre, this enormous development overlooks the majestic Mount Kinabalu and the Crocker Range. The 1Borneo mixed development consists of hotels, condominiums and retail shops. Its largest component is its shopping podium with a gross area of 1.5 million sf. The overall integrated development also comprises an auto city, handicraft and cultural centre, spa and fitness centre, amusement centre, bowling centre, cineplex and gourmet land. 1Borneo houses prominent retail brands to offer a wide range of products for shoppers. Some of the big brands include Levi’s, Esprit, Elle, Lacoste, Watsons, Padini, Daiso, Tomei and more. There were plans to build a Sea World within the development grounds but till date, there was no progress on that matter. In the year 2018, 1Borneo Hypermall was in the limelight for their unpaid electric bill of over RM8mil to the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB), resulting in a partial power supply cut of the mall. One can reach 1Borneo Hypermall via personal transport or public transport either by a city bus or taxi.
