Desarina is a development project in Taman Desa with a history that many purchasers of the units here will never forget. Desarina was once an abandoned project for 10-odd years, since 1997, by developer Mega Sakti Sdn Bhd and main contractor NCK Perumahan Sdn Bhd. The unfinished Desarina property became a dilapidated lot and was ravaged by natural elements and petty thieves, which left house buyers in the lurch without any indication from the developer as many of the buyers had spent hefty sums on loan and cash to buy the units. In 2005, the project developer and the main contractor went into liquidation and were even involved in a legal battle between one another while the project was ongoing. Eventually, Syarikat Perumahan Negara (SPN) took over the project and completed it.
